LEGACY IN MOTION
The Virginia Lacrosse Legacy Foundation unites alumni, fans, and supporters to strategically raise and allocate funds that strengthen the University of Virginia Men’s Lacrosse program, supporting student-athletes, coaches, and alumni while building a self-sustaining foundation that helps Virginia compete for a national championship every year.
Why do we need this?
The college sports platform is constantly changing, and Virginia Men’s lacrosse fundraising must stay at the forefront of that change.
- Continuity: As a united front, the Foundation can communicate a clear message from the athletic department to the donors.
- Accountability and Transparency: Donors demand visibility as to where their donations go to—how this makes an impact specifically to Virginia Men’s lacrosse.
- Working within the right roles & responsibilities: Coaches must focus on coaching, recruiting, and creating culture. Not fundraising.
- Level playing field: In a world where competing athletic departments are finding ways to fund their athletes at a higher level, Virginia Lacrosse must remain competitive
- Historic fundraising: In 2025 alone, Virginia Men’s Lacrosse fundraised over $8,000,000.
